Miluše Roubíčková
(b 1922) Czech Republic
Roubíčková’s poetic vision pervades her work, characterised by her motifs representing
everyday life. Her cakes, trays with fruit or candies and lollipops, ice-cream
sundaes, jam jars, boxes, sacks and bags depict
domesticity indoors, while flowers and canes, sometimes set into concrete walls,
take us out into the garden.
Roubíčková studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague. She has always worked as an independent artist, although she has collaborated with a number of glassworks, including Lobmeyr in Kamenický Šenov, Crystalex in Nový Bor, ÚBOK in Prague and Hergiswiller Glass in Switzerland.
